With W's proliferating like bunny rabbits around the world, who would have imagined it would have taken them this long to make a home in the City of Light? Located in a grandiose 19th-century Haussmann building in the 9th arrondissement, its fabulous position offers convenience to opera-lovers and hipsters alike. Don’t come looking for cheeky neo-Empire style, though. The W Paris – Opera is unabashedly mod, with a digital undulating wall at its core, sort of a giant mood ring, but themed around the seasons. This contrasts wildly with heritage-protected mosaic flooring and stained glass windows, which were incorporated into the design. A signature bar and restaurant are on the way. Book a suite with a view of the Opera Garnier, naturally.
