Old breweries aren’t just for restaurants anymore. Since 2010, the former Hürlimann Brewery in the south of the city offers up Zurich’s first hot springs bathhouse with a series of pools, steam baths, showers, plus rooftop pool with a view. Instead of beer, huge barrels hold a series of soaking opportunities: classical whirlpool and a meditation bath with underwater sound, for example, heated to various temperatures lukewarm (82° F) to hot (104° F). The crowd is mixed, so bring your suit. Massages and a menu of bathing “rituals” available.
