Reopened in November 2007 after a dramatic renovation by Top Design judge and opulent interior designer Kelly Wearstler, The Tides South Beach exudes beachy glamour. Just steps from South Beach and in the thick of Ocean Drive's notoriously bare bunch, The Tides is a sanctuary for the more tasteful traveler. Oceanfront studios, 24/7 "personal assistants," a gym, a tropical Pool Terrace, and access to beach chairs. Plus a fabulous restaurant with a newly minted chef. This is where it's at. Bonus for pet lovers: dogs up to 35 pounds are allowed to accompany you for a day. You can arrange to have dogs walked by the bellman. Cats are welcome, too, and litter boxes can be provided.
