After a 2010 renovation, The Grand's stature again befits its name. Located in one of the city’s most interesting areas -- between the university and the red light district -- it's a perfect spot to start your Amsterdam discoveries, offering spacious rooms and excellent dining in Bridges' secluded courtyard. Plus, in a city filled with history, this one tops out: historical chairs of the mayor and the aldermen are still on display in the first-floor Grand Hall, which used to be the town hall.
