Santa Fe features some of the best spas around, and Ten Thousand Waves ranks high. Striking a balance between Japanese calm and Santa Fe's mystical transcendentalism, this resort is a tranquil Eastern oasis in the Western desert. It offers a wide selection of rooms -- from the economical "capsules" -- converted Airstream trailers -- to the extravagant Emperor's Court suite, but the main attractions are the spa packages, like the stretch-intensive Thai massage or 25-minute salt glow scrub. There are also clothing optional hot springs, but be warned: The nude view is not always the city's most appealing.
