From Lyon, France, Seoul-born Raphael Young has infiltrated the world of fashion-forward footwear, earning plaudits from celebrities along the way. In contrast to his futuristic sex bomb creations, his Paris boutique smacks of a romantic French boudoir. With shelf space devoted to influential fashion tomes and wall space displaying changing exhibitions of the work of his favorite young photographers, the shop also has a keenly felt artistic bent. The shoes themselves are extravagant sculptural creations worthy of Brâncuşi.
