Located half way to Zurichberg (about 15 minutes from Central Station by tram), the gay-managed Plattenhof was one of the city’s first boutique hotels when it opened some years ago. Kept up nicely, 37 stylish rooms offer quality sleeps tucked away in a calm neighborhood near the university. Specials, like a free dinner at its Italian restaurant, Sento, are often timed around the city’s big gay events (like White Party Weekend in May).
