An honest-to-goodness boutique hotel, the intimate, 32-room Palihotel is located quite conveniently amidst the Melrose retail and restaurant mayhem - meaning it might be the only hotel in LA which doesn't require interaction with the valet every time you walk out the front door. And meant to recall the "urban inns" more likely to be found in Euro zone cities, owner Avi Brosh's design exudes rustic sophistication (lots of turquoise and dark woods), not soulless flash. Palikitchen serves artisanal coffee and comfort food, while the hotel's Thai message spa and blowout salon keeps you centered and beautiful. What a Pali.
