The Fox has been Copenhagen's offbeat boutique hotel of choice since it opened in conjunction with a 2005 ad campaign for the Volkswagen model of the same name. 21 international artists have turned the 61 rooms (all glimpsable on the website) into unique habitation expressions, everything from the boyhood fantasy world of Racing Cars (#316) to the high Swiss kitsch of Heidi (#409) to the royal fairytale realm of King's Court 1 (#509). If you should tire of the trendy lobby parties, the gay bar-heavy Pisserenden area is just out the front door.
