Alan Faena thinks big, reimagines Puerto Madero as a bastion of all things art. Which means a new Faena Arts District, crafted out of all those buildings he snapped up in 2000. Locals might not yet be sure what that means, but the clearest sign of progress: one very large, very impressive multi-purpose space. Housed in a former flourmill, the Faena Arts Center is shiny, contemporary, and partially packed with installations from famous visual artists. But it's really worth going just for original touches, like the bay windows and high ceilings, that survived the renovation intact. The perfect date spot to take that closeted trust funder from San Isidro you've been courting.
